I've been to almost 50 speciality cafes across Western Canada and the PNW and have had many quality experiences in my travels, and I'd have to say that Waffleton took me by surprise in being among my top 5. The flat white I had was impeccable, and the staff were incredibly friendly. It's a great stop for coffee and waffles while you are waiting for the boats to depart, or if you're just looking for a quick snack and caffeine boost!
We will say though that another guy who works there in the morning (owner perhaps?) is very friendly and nice. The ice cream was quite tasty though we can't say about the cone. We refused to eat the cone.
Fiancé ordered a coffee which took about 15 minutes. We also ordered a soft serve ice cream cone one evening and the staff member made us feel like we were bothering him. He'd been socializing with his friends and was quite unprofessional. After placing our order and paying, he stood around as if trying to figure out what to do. It's not that hard to pull the lever to dispense the ice cream! He then told us they were out of waffle cones and gave us a refund for that. To make matters worse, he then handled our regular ice cream cone with the same hands that he'd handled money with!!
They make a fine waffle here. It's especially nice considering a stand could probably still make money selling an inferior product because it's a tourist town.
We'd planned to come back the next morning to try their waffles but after these two unpleasant experiences, opted not to.
Amazing liege waffles. Had everything on the menu during our trip. Agreed with the comment about this and Wieners being the best two places (same owner). Best ice cream in town. Foothills creamery soft serve. Best coffee in town too. Try an affogato!
Three stars because of the subpar service. Thought this place was brand new and still sorting out their kinks but found out they've been there for many years.
Great coffee! I completely underestimated coffee from a waffle place, my Americana is great and I was eyeing another customer's espresso.
