My dinner companion and I were seated and served quickly. When our server realized we had just returned from a lengthy hike she left a large water pitcher at our table and replenished our glasses when they were out.
My wife and I ordered corned beef sandwiches with side of French fries and both the bread and fries were wet. To add insult to injury was the tip amount added to the bill and then the tip being taxed as well. When I asked the owner she was very smug and rude to deal with. Do yourself a favour and pack a lunch or patron one of the other restaurants there, as this place is not worth the money.
At the front counter, the restaurant claimed to serve the coldest beer in the town. This may we'all be accurate. I was more than satisfied with my beer.
We visited Trappers this Labour Day long weekend. Since we were a table of four with a dog we sat on the patio (greatly appreciate being allowed to bring him to the table). Though the section was busy while we were there service was prompt and friendly, and the server knew the menu. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals, and the prices were not out of line.
My friend ordered the vegetarian burger. Her patty was OK- but she claimed it tasted like something one might purchase in the freezer section of a groceteria. The portion of fries was generous and to her satisfaction but the coleslaw left something to be desired.
I ordered the bison taco salad. The bison meat was seasoned well and I like that the dish had 2 different types of lettuce in it. The tomato slices were rather large and the onions were so grandiose I could have worn them as bangles on my wrist! I had to cut them to eat them. The only condiment that came with the dish was some blowtorch-hot jalapeño cheesy dip thing. I much would have preferred a non-spicy option like guacamole or sour cream. I had to request salsa for my edible taco bowl or else I would have had to eat it alone. I was not very impressed.
Been back several times and always had great meals here. The service is excellent and I'm always blown away by how quick the food comes out.
The most expensive place I have ever been to. Place looks like a shittier version of Montana's but three times the price, don't know how they keep customers coming. The smelly gift shop attached is a classy touch, even Montana's doesn't have that.
I would go again.
I especially love the ribs.
